Fringe season kick-off

April 15th, 2009

Greetings, fellow heretics! The Fringe season has officially begun, and this will be the Great Heresy Theater Company’s second year in the festival. Last year we had a successful inaugural season with the premier of our original adaptation of Bruno Schulz’s _The Street of Crocodiles_.

This year we’re hoping to be bigger and better, with an original play by Sarah Wash called _Strange Weather_. It’s a post apocalyptic Greek tragedy set in the Midwestern American Great Plains. It’s equal parts ecological dystopia, exploration of human nature when pushed to the extremes, and multi-generational family saga. Our production this year will be directed by Fringe veteran Michelle Schwantes, with last year’s newcomer Josh Feist returning as well with his super-ninja stage managing skills. We’re adding a whole bunch of new people to the fold as well–designers and fundraisers and other folks you’ll be hearing from in the coming months. Mad thanks is due to the great Gerald Prokop for putting this WordPress blog together.

Stick with us–it’ll be a fabulous spring and summer and we hope you’ll be along for the ride.
