The Heretics’ Ball, Tent Revival, and Medicine Show
Brothers and sisters: come one, come all, to the greatest show this side of the Styx! The Great Heresy Theater Company is proud to announce the second annual Heretics’ Ball benefit concert and art auction, which will be held on July 25 at the Bedlam Theater at 8pm.
Last year, the members and friends of the Great Heresy Theater Company took over an empty house in east St. Paul, next to The Strip Club (the restaurant). We filled the house with art, music, friends, supporters, and shenanigans of all kinds. The evening featured live performances by Ghostband, Gerald Prokop, and Bla Bla Blacksheep, as well as an art auction, a sneak preview of our Fringe Festival show, an open bar with suggested donations, and free appetizers. We called it The Heretic’s Ball. It was a night to remember.
This year, the event will be held at the beautiful Bedlam Theater on the West Bank, Minneapolis. We will again have a silent art auction, wine and appetizers, a sneak preview of our Fringe Festival show, and live music, featuring Gerald Prokop’s four-piece rock band (including our own playwright, Sarah Wash, on keyboards), and electronic artists Ghostband and Ficshe. We will also have a Heresy Confessions chalkboard, where participants will be invited to write their confessions of heretical thoughts and deeds, and a Heresy Confessions area on the blog portion of this site (check it out).
