At long last…it’s arrived! Strange Weather opens tomorrow at the Minneapolis Theatre Garage at 7 pm. Come and show your support for the Great Heresy Theater Company. We’ve worked hard for many months, and now the moment is upon us. We hope to see you there…and then afterward journey with us to the Bedlam Theatre, aka Fringe Central, to lift a pint in celebration.

Remember: tomorrow, 7pm, Minneapolis Theatre Garage. You can even have dinner beforehand at Rudolph’s and make a night of it. See you then!

It’s finally Fringe time, ladies and gents! Tonight the cast is doing its first dress rehearsal, and we’ve got postcards! Send Sarah an email (find her on the contact page) if you want a stack for your community, theater group, whatever, and she’ll overnight ‘em to you.

The Heretics’ Ball, Tent Revival, and Medicine show is tomorrow night–so brush up your rural dystopian shoes and come on down! At 6pm is the Heretics’ Reception, free and open to the public–an opportunity to meet the Heretics in person and enjoy some free appetizers while sipping on a beverage from the cash bar. At seven is a sneak preview of Strange Weather, also free. At seven-thirty we take a break and let Panda Sandwich do their thing–for a $20 2-for-1 price, you can hang with both the Pandas and the Heretics. And then at 10pm the music kicks off, with Ghostband, Ficshe, and Gerald Prokop–closing out the evening with electro-synthrock madness.

And finally, on a more serious note…this looked like an Onion article headline but it’s real. Lest we think society is past the days of banned books and book burnings…well, this little news tidbit makes the mission of the Great Heresy Theater Company all too real, our logo all too relevant.

See you Saturday!

Confess your deepest, darkest, burningest secrets here about what portions of canonical or mainstream or accepted aspects of the daylit world you can absolutely not abide. What did your parents and teachers and preachers force you to think since you weren’t much bigger than a June bug? What ideas have always made you want to cry “No, no, no,” just as the rest of the world was crying “Yes, yes, yes?” And what alternatives to these accepted beliefs have you formulated in the depths of your being, that you can no longer hold to yourself? (And yes, Minnesotans, you can do this anonymously.)

Go forth, children of the dark, and confess!

Disclaimer: We have one sort of “heresy” we will not tolerate on this site, and that’s hate speech. Take it someplace else.

David plays The Stranger in the cast of Strange Weather. He lived in South Texas until he was 20, packed everything into his Ford Pinto, and moved to Minnesota. He traded the Pinto for a Datsun, began a career in typesetting that evolved into computer graphics, married a ballerina who evolved into an ex-wife, drove a Honda, raised 2 amazing daughters, acquired an orange tabby cat, acquired a son-in-law, drove a Geo, acted in theater and film, became the pronouncer for the state spelling bee, and now drives a Focus with 150K miles. He’s got some mighty fine friends, family, roommates, and distant cousins.

Joshua Humphrey plays Hector in the cast of Strange Weather. He is, first and foremost, an arts promoter. He is the host and producer of Twin Cities Theater Connection Podcast, in which he interviews theatre directors, actors, technicians and just about anyone that will give him the time of day. He hopes that Twin Cities Theater Connection is able educate audiences as he explores the dark underbelly that is the Twin Cities theatre scene.

Josh recently moved back to the Twin Cities this past September after having spent three years abroad in Japan teaching English to elementary and junior high school students. He’s worked with The Upright Egg Theatre Co. as a dramaturg and is beginning to concentrate more on his own writing and production interests. Hector is his first performing role in four years.

Gerald Prokop was born in a box, and has since been trying to climb out. So far, his left arm and leg are free, as are his right foot and part of his tongue. This allows him to wander around, run into things, and taste them.

Sorry, in all seriousness, Gerald is a songwriter, recording artist and pizza delivery driver who, by some perverse twist of brain chemicals, feels a relief from the weight of creativity by designing web content purely by editing code.
