Fringe time: Heretics’ Ball tomorrow, and a relevant political posting

July 24th, 2009

It’s finally Fringe time, ladies and gents! Tonight the cast is doing its first dress rehearsal, and we’ve got postcards! Send Sarah an email (find her on the contact page) if you want a stack for your community, theater group, whatever, and she’ll overnight ‘em to you.

The Heretics’ Ball, Tent Revival, and Medicine show is tomorrow night–so brush up your rural dystopian shoes and come on down! At 6pm is the Heretics’ Reception, free and open to the public–an opportunity to meet the Heretics in person and enjoy some free appetizers while sipping on a beverage from the cash bar. At seven is a sneak preview of Strange Weather, also free. At seven-thirty we take a break and let Panda Sandwich do their thing–for a $20 2-for-1 price, you can hang with both the Pandas and the Heretics. And then at 10pm the music kicks off, with Ghostband, Ficshe, and Gerald Prokop–closing out the evening with electro-synthrock madness.

And finally, on a more serious note…this looked like an Onion article headline but it’s real. Lest we think society is past the days of banned books and book burnings…well, this little news tidbit makes the mission of the Great Heresy Theater Company all too real, our logo all too relevant.

See you Saturday!

Who are the heretics? Chapter Six: David Talarico

July 11th, 2009

David plays The Stranger in the cast of Strange Weather. He lived in South Texas until he was 20, packed everything into his Ford Pinto, and moved to Minnesota. He traded the Pinto for a Datsun, began a career in typesetting that evolved into computer graphics, married a ballerina who evolved into an ex-wife, drove a Honda, raised 2 amazing daughters, acquired an orange tabby cat, acquired a son-in-law, drove a Geo, acted in theater and film, became the pronouncer for the state spelling bee, and now drives a Focus with 150K miles. He’s got some mighty fine friends, family, roommates, and distant cousins.
